Vegas Nightclub Dress Code Guide
Published
The Golden Rule
Every Vegas nightclub and dayclub enforces a dress code. Bouncers have final say — even if you’re on the guest list or have a table reservation, you can be turned away for dress code violations. (See our Vegas guest list guide and bottle service guide for what those entry methods actually cover.)
Nightclub Dress Code
Men
| ✅ Wear This | ❌ Not This |
|---|---|
| Collared shirt or nice fitted tee | Athletic wear or jerseys |
| Dress pants or dark jeans | Cargo shorts or sweatpants |
| Dress shoes or clean sneakers | Sandals or flip-flops |
| Blazer or sport coat (optional) | Hats or beanies |
The safe bet: Dark jeans, a button-down or clean black tee, and dress shoes. You’ll get into any venue.
Women
Women have more flexibility, but upscale is required. Cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, dressy tops with pants or skirts, and heels are standard. Avoid athletic wear, casual flip-flops, or overly casual outfits.
Dayclub Dress Code
Dayclubs are pool parties — the dress code is completely different from nightclubs.
Men
- Board shorts or swim trunks (required for pool access)
- No jeans or outside shoes in the pool area
- Tank tops or going shirtless is fine at the pool
Women
- Swimsuit with optional coverup
- Resort wear for non-pool areas
- Heels not required (and not practical poolside)
Venue-Specific Notes
Premium Nightclubs (XS, LIV, Omnia)
These venues tend to be the strictest on dress code. Sneakers are riskier here — stick with dress shoes. A blazer or sport coat helps, especially on busy nights. Headliner nights at XS Nightclub and LIV Las Vegas (check the events calendar for who’s spinning) are when door staff are pickiest.
Mid-Tier Nightclubs (Marquee, Hakkasan, Jewel, Tao)
Standard nightclub dress code applies. Clean designer sneakers are usually fine. Dark jeans are always safe.
Dayclubs (Encore Beach Club, LIV Beach, Marquee Dayclub, Tao Beach Dayclub)
Swimwear is the dress code. Don’t overthink it — just bring your swimsuit and a coverup for walking through the casino. Browse upcoming pool party events to plan your day.
EBC at Night
This one’s tricky — it’s a nightclub dress code even though it’s at the Encore Beach Club venue. Treat Encore Beach Club at Night like a nightclub, not a dayclub.
Common Reasons People Get Turned Away
- Athletic shoes — running shoes, basketball shoes, or anything that looks sporty
- Hats — almost universally banned at nightclubs
- Jerseys or sports apparel — no team gear
- Shorts — cargo shorts and athletic shorts are always a no
- Sandals or flip-flops — fine for dayclubs, never for nightclubs
- Overly casual — t-shirts with logos, ripped jeans, or anything too casual
Pro Tips
- When in doubt, overdress — you’ll never be turned away for looking too nice
- Bring a backup outfit — if you get turned away, you can change and try again (or try a different venue)
- Ask the venue directly — call or check their website if you’re unsure about a specific item
- Dress code applies to everyone — guest list, GA, and bottle service guests all must comply
- Shoes matter most for men — this is the #1 reason guys get denied entry
- Plan around the headliner — DJ-driven nights run hotter and stricter; cross-reference the events calendar before locking in your outfit
